Bridging Generations, Building the McGregor Community Since 1992.
Established through the leadership of the Northland Foundation and a dedicated coalition of local community members in 1992, Something Cool has grown from a grassroots vision into a lasting force for positive change. In 2000, the organization formally incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, creating a strong foundation to expand its impact and deepen its commitment to the community it serves.
Empowering Youth Through the Kids Plus Program.
At the heart of Something Cool’s work is the belief that young people thrive when they are actively connected to their community. The organization has proudly continued its signature Kids Plus program, which has become a cornerstone for youth development—offering opportunities for learning, creativity, and personal growth. Over time, Something Cool has broadened its reach, developing new programs and partnerships that support not only youth, but also families and the wider community. These efforts focus on building skills, encouraging healthy lifestyles, and fostering a sense of belonging and purpose.
Where Experience Meets Energy: Connecting McGregor Youth & Adults.
What makes Something Cool unique is its emphasis on intergenerational collaboration. Youth and adults work side by side—sharing knowledge, building relationships, and creating meaningful experiences together. Whether through educational activities, community service projects, recreational programs, or entrepreneurial opportunities, participants gain real-world skills while strengthening the fabric of the community.
By bringing people together across ages and backgrounds, Something Cool helps cultivate confident young leaders, engaged citizens, and a more connected community. Each program and initiative is designed to empower individuals, spark creativity, and open doors to new possibilities—ensuring that both youth and adults have the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute in meaningful ways.
Our Commitment to the Future
To fully engage youth in the life of the community through intergenerational education, service, recreation, and business opportunities.
